Hey fellow bloggers – if you are like me, you get pretty tired from posting awesome stuff, and not enough people seeing it.
We all have probably spent hours googling “how to increase blog traffic”, or watching webinars on being a successful blogger.
I’ve also implemented some advice from blogging friends, joined networking Facebook group (I know I’m in too many of those!). I’ve read my share of free e-books on blogging.
Over time, I have improved, but it has been SLOW. And boy did my perseverance get tested in the past couple of years!!
But what brings me to write this article is something that helped grow my traffic the most it has ever been in the shortest period of time since I have been blogging.
In just the last 2 months, I have TRIPLED MY BLOG TRAFFIC – from scheduling my pins using Tailwind!!
Look at the graph above – January 2015 is my all time high! Even the first week of February has beat some entire months worth of traffic just this past summer!
I learned about Tailwind looking at someone else’s post about it on Pinterest.
At the time I was trying to find a way to increase my Pinterest traffic since so many bloggers were swearing by its amazing-ness to boost traffic.
I did research on Viral Tag, and was totally turned off at the $49 a month price. I was put on a waiting list for Ahology that didn’t seem to be reaching me any time soon.
Then I read about Tailwind and that it only cost $9.99 a month – and my eyes perked right up! (I am a deal finder you know!) Tailwind had a special deal back near Christmas time, that if you paid for the whole year up front, then it only cost $7.99 a month.
I signed right up! Then I put it to the test for the last couple of months, and I have only good things to share about it.
Here are a few reasons why Tailwind is the Smartest Way to Schedule Pins on Pinterest:
- Save Time: multi-board pinning, bulk upload, drag-and-drop calendar and many more shortcuts built with your busy schedule in mind.
- Maximize your Reach: automatically optimize your pinning schedule based on when your audience is most engaged.
- Measure Success: Get deep insights on published content to see what’s working and what’s not.
- Schedule like a Pro: Our crafty Browser Extension lets you easily create multiple pins from any site with a single click – even re-pins on Pinterest!
- Affordable for Small Businesses, Extensible for the Enterprise
- It allows you to use their Interval Pinning feature
Update as of 6/16/15: Interval pinning allows you to schedule the same image to multiple boards at staggered intervals, so you don’t flood your feed with duplicate content. To get started, create a draft like you normally would, select the boards you want to pin to, and click on the “Use Interval” button.
The best part about Tailwind is that you can set your pinning schedule, and add pins to that schedule in bulk:
- Instantly create the optimal pin schedule based on audience engagement, virality, traffic and more.
- Effortlessly schedule multiple pins at once with our Chrome Extension
- Schedule repins directly from Pinterest.
- Track repins, likes, comments, traffic and revenue on scheduled pins over time.
On a typical day, I will go through my own content a schedule about 20 pins from my own content that I would like pinned in group boards.
You can also schedule this so you don’t have to do this daily – you can schedule out a week, a month, even 6 months if you want!
The times that these are pinned is based on the Tailwind analytics telling me the best times for me to be pinning to get the most views of my content.
Then I’ll head over to Pinterest, and find other awesome content from other pinners. I’ve read that we need to be pinning a minimum of 50% of other’s content compared to our own.
You can use a Tailwind Chrome Extension, and click on an image, and schedule it to be pinned. So I’ll go through and find awesome content for my boards, and schedule that to be shared that day as well.
Then I like to hit the “Shuffle Queue” so that my blog content gets mixed with with other pins.
I don’t want to bore or annoy my followers with 3 pins in a row of my content that they may have seen already and hopefully recently pinned it.
You can then track the success of these pins in the Pin Inspector section (which you will find on the bottom left hand side of the Tailwind dashboard.)
It tells me my top pins and on what boards they were the most re-pinned. You can easily schedule a re-pin from there, so it takes no time at all to re-pin already successful content.
There is also a “board insights” page that give you statistics on boards that aren’t doing so great, or group boards that aren’t’ helping you that you should just get out of.
You can also gain valuable information about your followers likes, dislikes, and pinning habits.
This is one area I know I’m currently not using enough is the easy way to interact with those who are pinning my content. But it is on my to-do list, and it is EASY using Tailwind!
Oh, and have I mentioned yet how awesome the staff is over at Tailwind?!
They are super awesome at communicating with the subscribers!!! When you sign up, they take the time to CALL you and get a personal tutorial.
If there is a bug, or glitch, or you don’t understand how to use something, you can quickly send them a message on the dashboard, and someone will get back to you, usually in an hour or two! (NOT the next day or two!)
For all of this, you only pay $10 a month….that’s it!
