**NOTE: The coupon deal offer I mention below is outdated and no longer available. BUT, the frugal gift idea is still super easy and makes a great gift, so I’m re-sharing. 🙂
Do you remember the $1/1 Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Cream (RP 1/5 or RP 2/3) insert coupons? I have had about 40 or so of them. No I didn’t buy 40 newspapers, I bought copies of this coupon from Coupondede.com. The reason why I ordered so many was so I could get a bunch of FREE lotion at Walmart or Wegmans:
Gold Bond Ultimate Healing lotion: $0.97 or $0.99 (at Wegmans or Walmart)
$1/1 Gold Bond Ultimate Hand Cream (RP 1/5 or RP 2/3)
= FREE
Between shopping at Wegmans and Walmart, I’ve come home with quite a few, to say the least, of these mini lotions! So what do I do with all of them now that I have them? I think that is a question that gets asked a lot – especially after the show Extreme Couponers came on the air. “What do all of those crazy couponers do with all of that stuff???”
Well first of all, I actually like this hand cream, so I have one in my purse, diaper bag, one in my bathroom, one on my night stand. My daughter has one in her room. My husband grabbed one for his car, and one for work. I have a bunch I’ve put aside to donate. Since they are small, I can use one up fairly quickly on myself.
But I also experimented a little with this lotion to see if I could create a frugal gift using this free lotion. I made Peppermint & Lavender Foot Lotion – with just 3 ingredients!
Update as of 7/27/15: Don’t forget to use your $1 off Aura Cacia product coupon from the Wegmans Back-To-School booklet!
**I squeezed 2 tubes of the Gold Bond Healing Lotion (1 oz) into an empty (and cleaned out) baby food jar.
**I then added 4 drops of both peppermint and lavender essential oil into the lotion, and stirred it up really well.
You can purchase the peppermint oil at Wegmans in Nature’s Market for $5.99 and the lavender was $9.49.
**I decorated the top of the jar with some fabric and tied on the tag with a ribbon.
You can download and print your own peppermint and lavender foot lotion tags over here.
The combination of the Gold Bond scent + the Aura Cacia oils makes this lotion just smell wonderful!!
You could use this on yourself – or give it as a frugal pampering gift to a friend!! Maybe for Valentine’s Day, use this lotion for foot rubs with your sweetheart! Or give it as a pampering gift for Mother’s Day!
If you try this, come back and let me know what you think of it!! 🙂
