Cinnamon Ornaments

Scents have an amazing ability to transport us back to a past memory or time. The smell of cinnamon can do that for a lot of people as it reminds them of Christmas.

That’s why I love these easy DIY cinnamon ornaments. They have the ability to make your home smell amazing with the smell of Christmas all season long.

Graduation Tassel Ornament

I recently was doing some cleaning/reorganizing and found my grad school tassel from graduation. It’s one of those things that you hate to throw away… yet ends up collecting dust.

With the Christmas tree currently in full glory at our house, I knew just the way to preserve that memory and accomplishment. With a quick DIY project.

Needle Felted Essential Oil Diffuser Ornament

Here is a really easy and fun ornament you can make (even with some kid help) that is needle felted and can be used as an essential oil diffuser ornament.

Christmas Mouse

It seems as though you can’t get through the holidays without the story of a Christmas mouse or two. Whether it be the story of The Nutcracker or Christopher’s Christmas, mice just seem to get us in the holiday spirit.

This holiday, why not do a little mouse crafting with your kids? Take a look below at how to use some very basic supplies to make your own cute Christmas mouse craft.

Homemade Christmas Ornament Cupcake

Creating your own homemade Christmas ornament gives you something completely unique and doubles as a fun activity to do with your friends or children.

This would be a super cute ornament to remember a first or other important birthday (think sweet 16!) that happened this year or to gift to someone who loves to decorate cakes!

It’s unique, cute, and really easy to make!

Decoupage Christmas Ornaments

The beauty of decoupage is that you can quickly and cheaply turn old things into new things with just paper and glue. Decoupaged Christmas ornaments are a great example.

You can always find old Christmas ball ornaments at garage sale and thrift stores and give them new life.

Birdseed Ornaments

After seeing how much birdseed ornaments cost at Red Envelope, I decided that we would make our own! It turns out that it is not very hard at all.

These are great little outdoor decorations and make cute present toppers. This is also an idea for Heartfelt Holidays and homemade gifts!

melted bead ornament

Melted Bead Ornaments

This summer I was browsing Pinterest and kept coming across the melted pony bead sun-catchers. I made a mental note that these would also make great ornaments!

The Christmas lights shinning through the melted beads would be just as pretty as the sun! This is also a very easy craft project for kids to complete.

Tutu Ornament

My Short Chic is turning into a little dancer. To thank the dance teachers for their help, we decided to make them a little gift for Christmas. A tutu ornament.

Rolled Paper in Clear Ornament

I made some of these up a few years ago, but of course had to make some this year with the beautiful Jolly Holiday Designer Series Paper.

This is a great project to do while watching TV. I rolled the paper strips up using my paper piercer as a guide. Tossed them in the ornament and added a bow out of Old Olive Taffeta ribbon.

Melted Crayon Ornament

Every year we gift hand made ornaments to our family. Usually this includes me wrestling the kids handprints onto a glass ball, then staying up late to finish them myself.

This year I think the kids are old enough to help so I picked 2 projects I thought they (and I) could handle. The first was the crayon ornaments and the second is salt dough ornaments.

CD ornament

DIY Mosaic Ornament

I’ve been itching to make holiday crafts all year and I’m so excited to share my first one. For this week’s DIY project, I’m making some sparkly ornaments made out of something that I’m sure we all have tons of at home: CDs.

Scrap Ribbon Tree Ornament

Crafters of all ages will enjoy making a primitive scrap ribbon Christmas tree ornament to gift or keep this holiday season. In this post, learn how to use shades of green and brown scrap ribbon to emulate the welcoming branches of a Christmas tree.

Scrabble Letter Ornaments

It was on my Christmas Craft To-Do List last year, but I never got around to it. 1), I didn’t have time and 2) I hadn’t come across any extra Scrabble letters.

In the last few months my sister’s boyfriend found not one but TWO old games at thrift stores for me. So this year, with plenty of letters to choose from, the kids and I had some fun making these.

And, no art skills needed.
