I woke up to Fatty McGee looking like this this morning!! I truly find it amazing the transition that these caterpillars go through in such a short period of time!
I’ve never witnessed the process of how they get into the chrysalis. I was considering setting my alarm in the middle of the night a couple of times to try and catch Middle Man when he does it. I don’t know if it is always at night, but it always has been with the ones I’ve had at home/school. Since I don’t have photos to show the step by step process, I did find this site here that has amazing photos and a time frame of how long the chrysalis making process takes. Middle Man has been eating non-stop and I’m sure will be in the same hanging position as Fatty in the next day or so.
Now I have to wait 10-14 days to see some more action!!
