While reflecting back on big events that happened during 2017, I’m sad to say that our family had a very difficult goodbye when my baby niece left us all at just 31 weeks old.
This was my sister-in-laws first baby, and our family was busy planning the baby shower when we got the devastating news. A healthy pregnancy out of the blue, ended all too soon with a shock to us all.
I’ve known way too many women who have suffered first trimester miscarriages – and those are hard enough. But we all felt that baby kick and watched the belly grow, and fell in love before we get to hold him or her.
Then the trauma of my SIL having to labor just to say goodbye – was beyond heart wrenching.
So one of my secret Christmas wishes was that we would get news that another baby would be on the way.
Just last week we all got an early Christmas gift with the news of another tiny miracle that is busy growing! I love getting baby gifts, and I just couldn’t wait this time around until the shower to start giving, so I gave my sister-in-law a Gerber ONESIES® Brand outfit and some Gerber sleeping gowns to celebrate the good news. We don’t know yet if it’s a boy or girl – so she got hooked up with clothes for either. 😉
I love Gerber brand baby clothes and am sharing the advice that moms (experienced or new) need to have many on hand!
Babies can go through many outfits in one day, and you don’t want to spend a lot of money on that clothing! Not to mention that they also grow out of this clothing so quickly – you really don’t want to spend a lot!
Especially Onesies (which you need many of) are sold exclusively at Walmart stores for just $2 and on Walmart.com as bundled sets starting at just $8. which is a great value when stocking up on extra outfits for your little one.
I love this Gerber Newborn Baby Boy Take-Me-Home Outfit – and it makes such an adorable shower gift! (or announcement gift as it became for me!)
I also love these Gerber Gowns (less than $4 each) with an elastic opening at the bottom for each middle of the night diaper changing!
Not having to undo snaps or zippers in the middle of the night when you are already sleep deprived is so nice! Seriously – new moms need this when you are in the first few months of the survival mode of motherhood!
If you are a new mom and are overwhelmed when it comes to your baby registry and what you really need vs. kind of nice to have – then check out my personal favorite list of baby and toddler items that really helped me when I was in that stage of motherhood. (you’ll notice that onesies are #1 on the list, but there are some other ingenious baby products that you will want to have as well!)
Be sure to check out the full line of mix and match styles you can stock up for now for your diaper bag, or for an upcoming baby shower!
