Here are some great deals I have gotten in this past month, and how I’ve used them to give back this holiday season:
MOPS food bank contest:
I am a member of MOPS (mother’s of pre-schoolers). We recently had a service project where our small groups had a contest to see which group could bring in the most weight of items to donate to a local food bank. My group was obviously going to win because this coupon queen was armed with plenty of items to donate! 😉 80 lbs of food was collected, 40 of which came from my group. I brought in a bunch of cans from this $0.18 Libby canned veggie deal (I bought 18 cans). There was some free Herbal essence shampoo and free softsoap body wash in the stash as well that contributed to our win.
School Missions Donation:
Also this month, my daughter’s pre-school is collecting toiletry items for a missions project in Haiti. Easy one for me to contribute too! Again, Herbal Essence Shampoo/Conditioner, Softsoap Body Wash, and & free Gold Bond Lotion was donated.
Church Christmas Meal Donation:
Remember how I explained how I would spend just $16.55 at Wegmans for $85 worth of products?
This past weekend my church collected food items to donate Christmas meals to 5 families in need in our community. Again, easy to check off on my to-do list! I signed up to give canned veggies, frozen veggies, and paper towels for each family. The canned veggies were the Libby’s brand from above. For frozen, I spent $0.49 on frozen veggies from this deal below:
Birds-Eye Recipe Ready, 8 oz – $1.49 Includes: select varieties some varieties are $1.99 – for stir fry or soup veggies (not just garlic and onions or peppers and onions)
$0.75/1 Birds Eye Recipe Ready, Any – 11-03-13 SS – Manufacturer – (exp. 02/02/14)- $1.00/2 Birds Eye Recipe Ready – 11-03-13 SS – Manufacturer – (exp. 02/02/14)
Final Price: FREE – $0.49 after doubled coupon
When you stockpile items like this and get them dirt cheap or free, it sure make it easy to give to the community! This time of year, there are plenty of places that ask for money or donations. When I have these items on hand, it makes giving fun, rewarding, and now we have more memories to add to our Sparkle Box. 🙂
