My experience:  My 10 year old daughter struggles a bit with anxiety, and it got worse with the new school year.  We’ve used some mindfulness and grounding activities in this book, like 5 finger breathing, to help calm her nerves on a high-anxiety mornings.  This book isn’t just for mindfulness though.  There are a ton of fun activities that bring families together that do not involve screens!  This would be a great book to bring on a camping trip when you are unplugged and in nature!  I would have loved to have had this as a resource when I was still teaching!

My experience:  Since I was diagnosed with POTS, I got really familiar with compression socks and stockings to help get blood up to my heart to avoid fainting spells.  All of the socks and stockings I used were u.g.l.y.!  I wish I had known about this brand sooner because it makes it less obvious that you are wearing a medical garment.  These are also super cute for pregnant women to use so lessen ankle swelling at the end of the day!

My Experience:  I’ve only tried two recipe so far – the cucumber mint salad and the Roasted Carrot, Asparagus, and Ginger Soup. 

I often make cucumber, tomato, mozzerella, and balsamic salads.  This mint one had slightly different ingredients that helped me change up what I usually make.  I LOVED the combination of mint, cilantro, and basil.  The lime gave it a nice citrus kick and I love the crunch of the macadamia nuts. 

The Roasted Carrot, Asparagus, and Ginger Soup was a huge hit with my family.  I added some croutons on top for added crunch.  French fried onions would also work.  I still have some leftover in the freezer that I’ll enjoy for lunch on a crisp fall day!

Since I eat mostly vegetarian, this will be a recipe book I’ll turn to over and over again.  The recipes are easy and filled with tasty ingredients!  If you are looking for a healthy cookbook with easy recipes, this is it!

My experience:  I’ve always used coconut oil in my skincare routine.  Other than using retinol, I don’t use any fancy moisturizers or creams on a regular basis.  I’ve tried many, but I think I’m just too frugal to stick with an expensive brand.  Maybe as my skin ages more, I’ll change my mind.  Until then, I just wash my face with castile soap with some melaleuca essential oil mixed in it.  Then I moisturize with coconut oil at night.  Coconut oil actually helped me get rid of adult acne!  Even though I could cook with this brand of coconut oil, it will stay in my bathroom for my face and dry skin to enjoy instead.

My experience:  I have a history of getting migraines.  My fast solution when I see the aura ahead of time is to drink a cup or two of coffee (get lots of caffeine), take acetaminophen, and get ice on my head.  If I do these three things quickly enough, the headache usually doesn’t get so bad that I spend hours running to the toilet because of the pain.  The stupid “ice contraptions” I’ve tried to create using hair bands and wash clothes and non-flexible ice packs were a joke.  I tried frozen peas once, and that was a little better, but I would still need to hold in on my head when all I wanted was to be in a dark room completely relaxing.  This headache relief cap is perfect because it blocks the light, and it stays on your head!  I would get two – so when one warms up, you have a second one ready to go so you can continue wearing it.

My experiece:  Well I should say my daughter’s experience because she’s the one with the long, curly, red hair (that’s her a few pics down modeling the Alpaca Shawl.)  She’s also a teenager who loves all things makeup, skincare, and especially hair care products.  There are so many curly hair care products in this house that I’ve lost count.  Now we can add 5 more to the list.  So far she’s only had the chance to try The Curl Keeper Spray Gel and she says she likes it because it helps hold the curl without feeling like hairspray.  Girls with curly hair have a hard time coming up with the perfect products for their hair type, and getting this subscription will help you decide what products work for you, and want to invest in, in the long run.

My experience:  I love the idea of a subscription box for a different board game either monthly, bi-monthly, or quarterly.  Board games are still a great way to have fun without a screen!  This specific game does require your full focus and attention (it’s not Chutes and Ladders!)  My 10-year-old said it was too hard, watched for a little while, and then disappeared.  I know the box says it was for 12 and older.  My 14-year-old got into it, but I think it was better for her brain than my still recovering from long Covid brain fog brain.  She needs to play it with her friends.  Next time I’d request a game that our whole family could play that would be more brainless and just fun.  If you like a challenge and a mystery to solve – this one is great!  As a teenager, I would have loved this game!  But after working all day, I’m ready for just “go-fish” instead of being a detective sorting a bunch of clues. 

I also think it would be great if this company could loan these games like a library, and if you like the game, you go ahead and purchase a new copy for your family.

My experience:  Talk about cozy!!!  There is nothing better than cuddling up by my woodstove, snuggled in my PediPocket, drinking chamomile tea, while watching a Christmas Hallmark movie!  (and maybe working on a diamond painting at the same time.)  You never have to worry about cold drafts around your legs ever again.  I wish I had one of these when my kids were still little, so we could cuddle together in it.  The only negative is that my kids whine when I’m in it – because I’ll ask them to refill my tea for me.  Because seriously, why would I want to get out of the PediPocket??!!

My experience:  My husband is in charge of the grill and cooking all of the meat in this house.  I only eat chicken once in a while, otherwise, my diet is vegetarian.  The Sticky Sweet Brown Sugar Grilling Sauce goes amazing on Morning Star “Chicken” Patties!  My husband though preferred the Super Chunk Steakhouse Spice Shaker to use on a pork roast that he and the kids ate.  My husband will also use the spicier stuff on his own plate on the side, because my 10-year-old claims she hates spice.  It’s quite ironic though because she drinks jalapeno olive juice out of the jar????!!!!  First of all gross, and second of all, that’s super spicy.  Another one of those mysteries of parenthood.  I’m going to gift a couple of the sauces and spice shakers to my in-laws who are pros both in the kitchen and at the grill.  I seriously need to take culinary lessons from them!

My Experience:  First of all, I LOVED the heat-resistant glove that works for both hands.  I have a cheap curling wand that came with one of those half gloves that just covers two fingers and your thumb, and it never stayed on and was awkward.  So this glove made me feel so much more confident that I wasn’t going to burn myself in the process of curing my hair.

I also really like the barrel that creates a tighter curl up top.  I always have trouble keeping curls from drooping throughout the day, and this barrel really extended the life of all of my curls!  There are also some great YouTube videos showing exactly how to use this, which is very helpful.  If you want an easy way to curl your hair, with different size curls, and a barrel that gets hot enough – this is totally for you!

My experience:  While the cream smells good, and I’m sure is filled with an ultra-potent antioxidant delivery system, I doubt that using just one bottle will convince me of the difference.  If I could afford to use it for the next 20 years, I bet I’d never regret using it.  But as I mentioned above, my skincare routine is pretty darn simple, with using coconut oil as my main moisturizer.  If you are looking for a luxurious skincare line, be sure to check it out!  It should only take one week to see the results!
