Easy Frugal Recipes | Broccoli Calzones for as low as $2.27 per serving (Makes 6)


  • 1 package 10 oz cut/frozen broccoli
  • Ricotta Cheese, Part Skim, 15 oz
  • Mozzarella, Low-Moisture Part-Skim Shredded, 8 oz
  • 1 tablespoon grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoon of Gourmet Garden Basil Paste – (fresh basil out of your own garden is the best option!)
  • Pillsbury Refrigerated Pizza Dough
  • 2 egg whites
  • Barilla Pasta Sauce, 24 fl oz


  1. Prehead oven to 375 degrees.
  2. Line 2 cookie sheets with aluminum foil for easy clean-up. Spray the foil with cooking spray.
  3. Lay out the Crecent Recipe Creations dough and cut into 3 equal rectangles
  4. Mix broccoli, ricotta, parmesan, mozzerella and basil. Add 1/6 of the filling to the dough
  5. Fold dough over filling. Pinch and use a fork edge to ensure sealing
  6. Brush the top with egg white
  7. Bake until golden and puffed, 20-25 minutes
  8. Serve with your favorite spaghetti sauce
