Ingredients

materials you will need to make your no-carve glitter pumpkins:

-Purchase orange styrofoam pumpkins from the Dollar Store or buy similar over here or here on Amazon!

Antique white spray paint

Orange dot stickers

Orange glitter glue

Loctite Spray Adhesive

-Fall colored leaves – either from a tree or faux leaves

Extra fine glitter

Rust-Oleum Clear Lacquer

Flourish Glitter Stickers

Instructions

1. The first thing I did was to spray paint them with the paint color of antique white spray paint to turn them into white pumpkins.

2. Paint on about 3 layers of paint. You will need to turn the pumpkins upside down and paint them in stages with some drying time in between.

For the first style of glitter pumpkin, the craft supplies I used were orange dot stickers and orange glitter glue.

1. Place the orange stickers on the pumpkin in a random pattern. Then add a thin layer of orange glitter glue on top of each sticker and spread it out with a paint brush.

2. Be on the lookout for the glitter glue to drip a bit, and to wipe them up before they fully dry. The glitter glue is ultimately what held on the dots. The stickers by themselves are not sticky enough to stay on the pumpkin.

3. You could seal the whole pumpkin when you are done with mod podge if you see any stickers to fully staying on the pumpkin.

The second glitter pumpkin I made using Dollar Tree foam pumpkins is covered in fall leaves with clear and orange glitter.

1. The first step is cover your pumpkin with Loctite Spray Adhesive.  This will make the pumpkin sticky so that you can attach some fall colored maple tree leaves. I used leaves from the trees in my yard.

You can also use faux fall-colored leaves from a local craft store or Amazon.

2.  The spray adhesive gets very tacky so I used the tip of a pen rather than my finger to press the leaves down onto the pumpkin.

PRO-TIP:  Let the pumpkin sit on top of a jar or cup to dry. If you let it sit on newspaper to dry, the newspaper will stick to the adhesive and leave paper marks on the pumpkin that you won’t want.

3.  Next, add extra fine glitter all over the pumpkin and outline a few of the leaves with the orange glitter glue that I used in the orange dot pumpkin.

4.  As one final step, I covered the entire pumpkin with Rust-Oleum Clear Lacquer (or you can just use a clear coat enamel spray).

My third and personal favorite of dollar store pumpkin makeover is this one where I put on Flourish Glitter Stickers all over it.

1. Use 2 packs of flourish glitter stickers to cover the entire pumpkin.  I didn’t use a specific pattern – just placed the stickers on the pumpkin so they were even and looked good.

These stickers stick very well to the pumpkin, but still recommend adding a clear layer of lacquer to protect the stickers from peeling off.
