Summer is already here, and that means that you need to redo your home’s summer décor with some beautiful summer decorations! It is incredible on how bringing in new pieces, and moving around the existing ones, can lift your mood and energy to match this sun-filled season. If you are loving the dopamine decor trend which includes tons of bright colors, then you’ll find fabulous ideas here on how to brighten your room with bursting colors!
Before you begin your room transformation, I recommend doing some decluttering first. A simple and decluttered home is more appealing than a highly decorated cluttered space.
In any house, there are numerous things that are affected by the season and other elements. For example, in winter, we like our space to be warm and cozy. So we may cover up all the windows with thick curtains. However, in summer, the case is the opposite. We want the house to be airy and bright. Similarly, there are other things related to summer home décor that should celebrate the bright spirit of the summer season.
When it comes to redecorating a room, the first thing you should consider is its purpose. A bedroom is different than a living room. Therefore, you will have to keep that in mind while decorating and picking out your beautiful summer decorations. If you are not sure how you can change your house décor for summer, here are six ideas that will guide you this season!
1. Use Bright Colors
Summer is the perfect time to add that pop of color that was missing during drab winter. If you want to experiment with dopamine decor, then bright colors will be your best friend! From your sofa cushions to the color of your wall, everything bright will add to the beauty of your home. The bright yellow color is one of my favorites and will make a perfect summer backdrop. If your walls are bright, then go for neutral shades of furniture and decoration pieces to enhance their outline.
If you love the neutral look, paint your rooms white. You can add a vibrant boost by playing with the textures in the room. If your sofa is neutral-colored, consider adding lots of cushions with bright colors. Add texture to the flooring with a rug. If your room is large, then buy a bigger rug. Many people go for a small-sized rug when it can make everything in the room look out of proportion. A bigger rug may cost you more money, but it will be worth the investment. Overdyed version of rugs are great options as they are also currently very trendy.
2. Wicker Furniture
Add wicker furniture pieces in your room because they bring in the summer vibes. A wicker chair or swing beside the window looks voguish. Buy some colorful throw blankets with pillows for the couch to make it comfy. You can cuddle up and read your favorite book while enjoying the outside scenery and cool breeze!
3. Add Greenery and Flowers
There isn’t a better way to make your décor look summery than by bringing the nature inside! Bring some life in your space with greenery and colorful flower arrangements. The good thing about plants is that you never get bored of them. They clear the air of many toxins and look amazing anywhere whether it is your living room, bedroom, or bathroom. Nothing says beautiful summer decorations more than bringing the gorgeous outside into your home!
Spring and summer seasons are about greens and colorful flowers. Even a small bunch of flowers in a vase on your dining table can cheer up the place. Make your eating area or dining room look stylish with some floral runners and floral themed crockery.
Colorful flowers in a neutral colored vase always make a perfect summer décor. You can also create a floral arrangement with vibrant shades of flowers. Decorate this arrangement on the table at your entrance or on a side table in your living room. You can apply these same ideas and theme to other parts of your house as well.
4. Buy Sheer Curtains
Summer is all about soaking up the sun and enjoying the cool breeze. You cannot do that in your house if your curtains are blocking your windows. Instead of the heavy winter curtains, buy light-colored sheer curtains that go with the theme of summer. Match the flowery theme of your house with some breezy floor-to-ceiling curtains; it can really make a difference.
There is a variety of prints and textures when it comes to curtains. For the summer season, choose lighter shades. The shade of your curtains affects the temperature management in your house. If you want to feel breezy weather without the heat, consider buying a darker shade of blue or green.
5. Add a Wreath to Your Front Door
A wreath is not just for Christmas. A beautiful floral wreath is always a must when it comes to summer decorations. There are tons of DIY projects that will guide you on how to make one. Use a twig wreath, and with some hot glue, attach artificial flowers. Decorate with matching ribbons and embellishments. If you love bright colors then instead of pastel color, add flowers of various sizes and brighter colors. Bright yellow sunflowers will aptly represent the summer season.
6. Sea-Inspired Décor
Summer reminds everyone of the beaches and pool parties. It is only fair that you should add some elements of the beach in your décor. Seashells have many purposes when it comes to decorating any room. Make your home a relaxing haven with some cool and creative décor.
Instead of a floral vase or centerpiece, create a seashell centerpiece. Get seashells of different shapes and sizes, and stack them up in a tall vase. Fill the jar with sand at the bottom. If all your seashells are of the same color, you can paint them to highlight their designs. You can also use these seashells or beach pebbles to decorate your photo frames or centerpieces. Another way to use these seashells is by decorating your walls. Choose seashells of your favorite shape, hang them up on the wall arbitrarily, and add some lights.
I hope this helps you choose a way to freshen up your home décor this summer with beautiful summer decorations! Happy Decorating!
