 Best lunch box system

Easy Lunchboxes.com was kind enough to send me a set of four compartmentalized
food containers and a lunch bag cooler to try.

Since my full time job is no longer outside of the home, and my daughter isn’t school age yet, it was up to my husband to put this product to the test since he packs his lunches most days for work.  I reminded my husband a few days ago that he had to start using this system to pack his lunches so that I could post this review on this product.  The first thing he asked me was, does it have those bad chemicals in it?  You mean BPA’s?  I asked.  I said I didn’t know, so I went to their site and looked it up.  I excitedtly told him that it doesn’t – no BPA’s, no phthalates, no vinyl and no lead!  We’ve made a concerted effort have him not use the cheaper plastic food containers when he has to microwave his food because of those chemicals that can leach in his meal.

His report:  The first thing he asked when telling me about it was how much it costs.  I told him $13.95 for the plastic containers and another $7.95 for the lunch bag.  He then asked me how much the thinner, disposable and toxic containers were and I told him like $3-4 for a pack of 5.  He said that these re-usable plastic containers that are BPA free, more durable, and last longer was a much better deal.  He has been using ceramic containers to avoid plastic chemicals and they are much heavier.  So he was also happy to find a safe, light weight alternative that had separate compartments for his lunches.  He also liked the lunch bag because it was so simple.  One thing he did say though that it would be nice if it had just one pocket for silverware or other small items.

Here are some quotes about this product that come from the Easy Lunch Boxes website:

“Pack lunches fast with our single-lid, 3-compartment plastic food containers. Save time and money packing work or school lunches.”

“EasyLunchboxes are great for portioning servings out in advance. They’re also convenient to fill with leftovers from dinner — just microwave at work!”

“No BPA, PVC, phthalates, Lead, or Vinyl

“They’re BPA-free, SAFE and environmentally friendly, too! You’ll find it easy to ‘go green’ by using EasyLunchboxes for a waste-free lunch”

“The simple chic design and bright colors of our Cooler Bags can even be personalized! We have included a sturdy grommet in the carrying handle so you can easily attach a pretty key ring, dietary restrictions warning tag, or your choice of any type of handcrafted or store bought “flair.” Examples HERE

  2. Currently each snack or lunch is in its own container and then put into a bag that keeps them cool. But having one container like this would be much better!

  3. We use a wide range of containers, just things we already had. We have some Gladware/Ziploc type containers, some vintage Tupperware, some Rubbermaid, etc. I then have 2 different insulated lunch bags that I can transport them in. I would like to move to all BPA-free things (preferably all from a matching set!) someday.

  4. I usually put everything into their own separate containers in the luch bag but this would be much better…

  5. For my son’s lunch, which he brings to school every day! haha I put his food in zip lock baggies or foil and into his lunch box.

  6. Following you on twitter! Love the lunch solutions! Definitely want to find something better than what we have before school starts again!

  7. Right now I pack everything in tupper-ware for my boyfriend and then in a plastic bag from a previous grocery shopping trip.

  8. I’m loving this giveawya. Right now I actually use an only baby bottle cooler I was given at my now 6 year old’s baby shower. lol. I need a new lunch box for sure!

and I’m following you on facebook under the email addres jkeith@cbu.edu.

    Thanks!

  9. Currently I pack my lunch in a lunchbox, but still use disposable sandwich bags and such. I plan on weeding those out as I have time to make/buy reusable baggies!

  10. My wife currently packs a classic brown sack lunch. And it usually gets smashed at some point before lunch. This would be great to win.

  11. Currently I figure out what’s going into the lunch then search for some container or bag to put it in. Often that goes into my tote with other things for the day. If traveling it goes on the passenger’s seat, opened and ready for the enjoying.
