EASY and CHEAP and GREEN Spring Cleaning!

EASY and CHEAP and GREEN Spring Cleaning!

I’m not a fan of spring cleaning – or any deep cleaning for that matter.  But spring is in the air, and the dust bunnies under my couch are reproducing at such a rapid rate that I need to get it under control.

I figured if I write about it to you, it will motivate me to take care of my own messes.

EASY and CHEAP and GREEN Spring Cleaning! Sounds like the perfect plan for spring cleaning!

Here are a few EASY and CHEAP and GREEN Spring cleaning tips that can hopefully help us all be a bit more motivated for spring cleaning.

EASY and CHEAP and GREEN Spring Cleaning! Sounds like the perfect plan for spring cleaning!

Let’s start with this post on Frugal Living with Homemade Cleaning Products.  In it is 15 different natural homemade cleaning products that you can make for your kitchen, bathroom, and everything else.  These are mostly using items like borax, vinegar, baking soda, etc.

One that is not on that list though is using baking soda and water to clean your oven.  This is all I use to clean my oven.  I’ve never used any of the harsh oven cleaning chemical products.

The above picture shows you just how gross my oven door was.  All I did to clean it was sprinkle on some baking soda.  I sprayed it with some water, and a bit of lemon juice and I let it sit for about 10 minutes.

After 10 minutes, its pretty easy to scrub off and wipe away the cooked on grime!!  No harsh oven cleaners needed!!

That’s pretty shiny for just baking soda and a little bit of lemon juice!

A few sprays of this powerful, biodegradable formula turns each water droplet into a tiny scrubber—lifting away soap scum and hard water for a shower that stays sparkling with no scrubbing.
This comes in a 16oz. bottle of concentrated cleaner that makes up 4 bottles of cleaner.  I get this from Melaleuca and it costs me $5.69.  Since that makes up 4 bottles, that’s like paying just $1.42 per bottle.  That’s without having to hunt for coupons – and it is for a safe product that does not require a child safe cap and there are NO toxic warning labels on it!!!
I’ve kept a bottle of this in my shower – and I just spray this on when I’m done showering.  That’s it – I just spray and walk away!  The title of the product of “No Work” was what got me to try it.  I really don’t scrub my tub!  Yes – it is as awesome as it sounds!  One more way to make cleaning EASY!
In order to shop for Melaleuca products, you need to sign up to be a preferred customer, and need to do so through another Melaleuca customer.  Once you get your own personal online account set up – you just order on your own when you want – and you don’t need to rely on a product distributor to pay or deliver your products.  Let me know by leaving a comment or sending me an e-mail if you are interested in learning more and I can give you all of the specifics of how the company works and get you set up.  🙂
