The Sneezy Wheezy Day Book Review/Giveaway – ends 2/1/12
I recently received a copy of The Sneezy Wheezy Day, by Sharon Cramer. In this book, brother cub isn’t feeling well. As he and sister cub seek help for his cold, they encounter many well-intentioned forest friends who offer silly home remedies. In the end, the “remedy” that helps the most is sister cub’s love for his brother while she cares for him. :)
The good news is that this is a great story. The bad news, is that this story hit just a little too close to home the last few days. I’ve been whiping my 2 year old daughter’s nose, treating her fever, and giving her some extra kisses, in hopes they will help this cold leave her body that much faster. This is a great book that every family should have when a little one is under the weather.
Here is another cool fact about the book, Sharon Cramer, the author, also illustrated this book. Each picture is done in watercolor, with each picture taking her between 18-24 hours to create! That makes me appreciate this book that much more!
More good news – The Sneezy Wheezy Day e-book will be available Cougar Cub Tales:The Sneezy Wheezy Day all week of this week, Jan 23-27. (yes, I will grab a copy for my iPhone!) If you prefer a hard cover version, head over here
to order one for $14.95.
Or, you can try and win a hard copy of the book right now! Fill out the Rafflecopter entry form below to enter.

Uncommon Goods $50 Gift Certificate Giveaway – Ends 1/25/12
I have good news for everyone! Uncommongoods.com was kind enough to offer a $50 gift certificate to one of my readers!
Before I give you the details on the giveaway, let me first tell you about a product that they sent to me to use.
I was in need of some containers to help our spare bedroom/toy room get more organized. See the before picture below:
This is pathetic, right? Well, I guess its not too bad since my 2 year old daughter is responsible for the mess. It’s usually not quite this bad, but I took this picture on a particular rough day in the toy room!
When the Holga Leaf Baskets arrived, I used them to help this room out.
They are good storage units for various puzzles and fake food items my daughter “cooks” with. :)
Now did these baskets contain magical powers so the room always looks like this? Nope! But they sure are nice when I’m training my daughter to now pick up after herself to direct her toward the baskets as a way to organize her toys. These baskets are well made, sturdy, functional, and they look good too!
I’ve enjoyed products from Uncommon Goods for quite sometime. I have received their catalog for years now. It’s actually a catalog I look through, and not immediately throw into the recycling bin. They sell items that you cannot find anywhere else, such as this gummy bear light! They can help you with “constructive eating” with childrens dishware like this. If you are by chance need birthday gift ideas, I guarantee you, you’ll find something unique that you or a loved one will treasure.
One more thing – you can currently save 15% on any Uncommon Goods order if you have 90 points in your Recyclebank account!
I bet you are ready to try and win $50 from Uncommon Goods so you can start shopping. Use the Rafflecopter form below to enter the giveaway:
