Part of our evening routine with my 3 year old daughter recently has been reading together Little Visits at Bedtime, by Dr. Mary Manz Simon.
This book contains 105 devotions and prayers, geared for ages 3-7. Each page has a different devotion which includes:
Bible verse
Prayer
Story reflecting everyday situaions
“Let’s Talk” – questions to trigger interaction
“Parent Connection” – practical ideas or child development content
“Bringing It Home” – foundational content for spiritual growth
I know that kids are “sponges” starting at such a young age. I’m still suprised when my daughter spouts out lines she has already memorized from Toy Story, and she just turned 3! I guess that is the norm, but it just hits home how much kids take in what they see and hear.
My husband and I have always wanted to bring up our children in a home that is founded on Christian principals and values, which we want to instill as early as possible! Having this book is just the perfect tool to end the day on a good note.
There are some great topics in this book ranging from explaining adoption, how to play fair, reminder to give thanks, God’s love, purpose of names, and so much more (100 more to be exact!)
Both my husband and I just love this book and think every family would enjoy this bedtime ritual.

I want to win because I’d love to have a good prayer book for my son to read
I’d love to read this to my daughter at bedtime

My toddler and I read every night and this would be a perfect way to incorporate religion into this!
I read my 2 year old son a book every night for bedtime and this would be a wonderful addition to his books, while teaching him more about night time (and anytime) prayers!
This would be perfect to read with my daughter! I agree that they are such sponges at this age and we want to instill all these great things into her starting when she’s young!
I would love this for my three year old. He is so curious about Jesus.
I would love to read this with my daughter
