Young Living Pure Essential Oils Review and Giveaway (PanAway)

For the past few months (if you’ve been reading here that long) you’ll remember a few of my reviews and giveaways being about Young Living Essential Oils.  I was introduced to these products by my hairdresser a few months ago and have been intrigued to learn more about them. I listened to the “Missing Link” informational CD that explains why these natural products have healing properties and have purchased a few oils to try for myself.  One kit that I have purchased was the The Everyday Oils Kit which contains the following oils and oil mixtures in 5 ml bottles–  Lavender,  Lemon,  Peppermint,  Frankincense,  Pan Away,  Peace and Calming,  Purification,  Thieves,  Valor.

For the next 5 months, I’m going to focus on one of the oils listed above, write a post on its benefits, and give my personal feedback after I’ve tried it.  Then one of my lucky readers will also have the chance the win the oil and try it for themselves.  I’ll also include a copy of “The Missing Link” so they too can have some more information of how and why these work.

September is PanAway Month

Here are some benefits that the Young Living Website says about PanAway Oil:

Created by Gary Young following an injury that severely tore the ligaments in his leg. PanAway is a blend of wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens), which has an active constituent similar to cortisone; clove (Syzygium aromaticum), which contains eugenol, used by dentists to numb gums; peppermint (Mentha piperita), which is calming for nerves; along with helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum), which is soothing for localized discomfort.

How to Use
Apply to the bottom of the feet and follow with topical application on location. Rub on temples, the back of the neck, or the forehead, or inhale for a soothing effect. Use with a compress along the spine.

Ingredients
Wintergreen (Gaultheria procumbens), helichrysum (Helichrysum italicum), clove (Syzygium aromaticum), and peppermint (Mentha piperita).

**I also have a reference Guide for Essential Oils compiled by Connie and Alan Higley that gives some more details about the oils and here is what is says PanAway can be used for:

“Due to the aspirin-like properties of wintergreen and the powerful anti-inflammatory properties of the other oils, this blend helps to reduce pain.  It also stimulates quicker healing by the induction of oxygen into the tissue site.  It has been used to relieve pain during surgery with no anesthetic (helichrysum and clover were also used.)  It alleviates the symptoms of sciatica, relieves bone pain, arthritis, rheumatism, and promotes healthy circulation.  It also helps with sports injuries, sprains, muscle spasms, bumps, and bruises.

My experience with the oil: When I opened up my bottle of PanAway, I didn’t have any injuries or arthritis that needed treatment.  My mom though suffers from arthritis in her thumb, so I gave her a sample to try.  I’m always on her case for smelling like BenGay, so I wanted her to try something natural that didn’t smell so horrid.  :)   She said she really did feel a difference when using it and did think it helped relieve arthritis pain in her thumb.

I had some issues with sciatica pain when I was pregnant.  I’ll keep this in mind when baby #2 is on the way!

I learned one of the Personal Care products is Dentarome toothpaste which contains natural plant-derived ingredients, such as vegetable glycerine and ionic trace minerals. Dentarome uses baking soda and contains the essential oils of wintergreen and peppermint.
